About This Site

Last update: July 2006

This site was made by our friend WordSmith.
Alas he suddenly passed away in July 2003. This is to safe his work. I'm only hosting the sites on my homepage, (www.rattarium.net), and I haven't made too many changes in source code.
BluesRat aka Ed_Home or just Beate (from Germany)

Hint: If you cannot see a link back to Lyrics index (on Artwork pages or so) then click the MB-logo above to get there or use the back-button of yourr browser.

This site publishes the lyrics of those songs issued by The Moody Blues.

Whatever you see here you are welcome to download, but please do respect the copyright of the artists and companies involved.

The lyrics are arranged in album order. Where a lyric has been issued on a number of albums, it appears here under its first album. Any later album appearances are linked back to the original abum, so you should always be able to find the lyric of the track you are looking for.

There has to be some limit to the scope of this site. Whilst some of the band's solo efforts are recorded here, such inclusions are at my discretion. In the same vein, tracks contributed by band members to other people's albums are generally not included, the sole exception being Forever Autumn from War Of The Worlds.

I believe that every Moody Blues' lyric is listed here, but this is not a collectors' site or a memorabilia site and does not attempt to support those activities.

Tracks prior to 1969 generally have not had authoritative lyrics published for them by The Moody Blues. Consequently, some of the tracks have had their lyrics recorded by the old-fashioned method of listening to the music and writing it down. It is not a reliable process and I do not claim to be 100% accurate. I simply say "I have done my best". If there are mistakes, they are all mine. I am aware of other interpretations by other people: where I disagree with their result, it does not in any way belittle their own sincere efforts at bringing to light these more obscure tracks. I have written to The Moody Blues asking them if they could confirm or correct some of my interpretations but I have never received any responses.

You are welcome to link to these page URLs without further reference to me. However, please do not link to any images because that quickly uses up the purchased bandwidth* and may cause the host to take the site off-line for a period, so denying this site to other people. To link to this site, simply copy the following HTML code into your page.

The account at Tripod does not exist any more. To shortcut this fan page use this new link www.moody-blues.net.tf which targets to our Moody-Blues-Forum frontpage. BluesRat

* Bandwidth: this is an expression to mean the volume of data delivered by this site. Ten people reading the 47k Music Index file would use (10 x 47k =) 470k of bandwidth. The site has purchased an amount of storage volume and delivery bandwidth (which is why there are no pop-up advertisements here). The bandwidth is metered by the Tripod host in 1-hour increments.
Whilst the lyrics are the primary purpose of this site, the album art is an important secondary aspect. If you want to download the large image scans (linked to the small images on the 'Album Art' pages) please do so. At some point you may trigger the site's bandwidth limitation and find yourself barred from further downloads for an hour or so. It's not me stopping you doing this but is the host's bandwidth auto-limiter making sure that the month's allocated bandwidth is not all burned up within an hour. Please do continue with your downloading when you regain access. If you wish to take a lot of image files, I trust you to be sensible about your downloading and take them on a 'little and often' basis. Thank you.

My thanks to all those people and organizations who have kindly referred to this site on their own Moody Blues' sites. On the links page, I link to The Moody Blues' own site, and to Donna's excellent web resource for The Moody Blues. Those two sites (and this one) provide you with everything the Internet can offer about The Moody Blues.

Finally, the site is here to help you enjoy the work of The Moody Blues. So sorry if this was a long, dull page to read!
